Nigerian TikTok streamer and content creator, Peller, has stirred debate online after explaining why he refused to learn a trade despite his parents’ encouragement.
Speaking during a recent podcast, Peller said his parents wanted him to acquire a skill, but he questioned the financial future of learning from someone who struggled to make ends meet.
According to him, “My dad and mum wanted me to learn work but I didn’t listen. Imagine them telling me to go learn work from a poor man, someone that hardly makes 20k per week, what’s the assurance that I’ll make more money than him if I had finally learn the work?”
His comments quickly divided social media users, with many arguing that success depends on an individual’s dedication rather than the financial status of a mentor, while others said he was simply fortunate that content creation worked out for him.
