The General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has called for the revival of Ibeto Cement, alleging that the company was pushed out of the market due to the dominance of Dangote Cement.
Speaking during a recent address, Odumeje said that if Nigeria truly desires unity, it must begin by addressing issues of fairness and equal economic opportunities across all regions.
According to him, “If we are talking about One Nigeria, we must start to address issues. Ibeto Cement must come back. Because of Dangote Cement, Ibeto Cement was put aside. The factory was totally shut down. When Ibeto Cement came out, it challenged a lot of cement.”
The cleric also paid tribute to the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, describing him as an Igbo hero who deserves to be celebrated annually across the South-East.
He argued that many of the issues that led Ojukwu to fight for the freedom of the Igbo people still exist today.
“Ojukwu is supposed to be celebrated in Igbo land once every year. He is our hero. Everything that made Ojukwu enter the fight for Igbo freedom is still happening today. In this country called Nigeria, the leaders don’t like where the poor will benefit. Dangote Cement must stop selling in the South-East,” Odumeje stated.
