Kano Pillars FC resume training, target NPFL title

Kano Pillars Football Club on Monday officially resumed preparations for the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with their first training session held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano and a target set for the title.

The session, which marked the beginning of pre-season activities for the club, was supervised by the club’s technical crew.

The crew was led by Head Coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro and his assistant, Gambo Muhammad.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that players underwent light fitness drills and tactical routines as the coaching crew assessed their conditioning levels ahead of a more intensive build-up programme.

Before the commencement of training, the Chairman of Kano Pillars FC, Musbahu Garo, charged the players to approach the new season with discipline, dedication, and a strong winning mentality, describing the campaign as “a season of serious business” for the club.

Garo, who was represented by a board member, Alhaji Abba Galadima, said the management was committed to providing the necessary support required for the team to compete strongly in the NPFL and secure qualification for continental football.

He urged both players and technical crew to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering improved performances and consistent results throughout the season.

Responding on behalf of the team, Captain Rabiu Ali expressed appreciation to the club’s management for continued support, assuring fans that the players were fully committed to restoring the club’s competitive edge and achieving its objectives for the season.

Yaro-Yaro thanked the management for its backing and confidence in the technical crew.

He assured that the coaching team would work diligently to assemble a disciplined and competitive squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming campaign.
