Nigerian singer and songwriter Augustine Miles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, has sparked conversations on social media after sharing his thoughts on the state of love and marriage in recent years.
The music star expressed concern over what he believes has been a noticeable shift in relationships since 2020, suggesting that love no longer feels the way it once did.
Speaking candidly, Tekno said:
“I think since after 2020, love is not the same. Marriages don’t work.”
Although the singer did not elaborate on the reasons behind his statement, his remarks have generated mixed reactions online. While some social media users agreed with his observation, pointing to the increasing number of celebrity breakups and divorces, others argued that healthy relationships and successful marriages still exist despite modern-day challenges.
Many commenters attributed the perceived decline in relationships to factors such as changing values, social media influence, financial pressures, and unrealistic expectations. Others maintained that lasting love requires commitment, communication, and mutual understanding, regardless of the era.
