Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun has reacted to the trending video of football legend Messi crying after the World Cup.
Kemi Filani reported on Sunday that Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the final of this year’s World Cup.
Following his country’s loss, Messi, who plays for Argentina, broke down in tears on the field.
Reacting to the news, AY noted how the young ones end up bathing their predecessors when they are old. He implied that the young ones have overthrown Messi.
The comedian, however, expressed how emotional he was seeing Messi in tears. He expressed how privileged he is to have watched him play all these years. Giving Messi his flowers, he congratulated Spain’s top player, Lamine Yamal.

While mourning Alex Ekubo, he shared a painful reminder that life never pauses for anyone. He explained that no matter how loved, famous, or wealthy one is, the world keeps moving when they leave.
In other news, the comedian spoke about emotional neglect and accountability. He said society had normalised choosing sides so much that they’re no longer asked what went wrong in the first place. The comedian opined that relationships would survive better if accountability were shared rather than outsourced.
He issued a warning to the public against fake friends, advising them to beware of anyone who claims to be a friend yet rushes to capitalise on any negative news about them and tries to monetise it.
