The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a popular Asaba-based content creator, simply identified as Odogwu Asaba, over an allegation of rape involving a young woman in the state.
The suspect, reported to be 44 years old, was arrested following allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman identified in reports as Favour Agbro, who later died in Asaba.
Daily Post reported that the arrest was confirmed on Wednesday by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.
The case had generated widespread reactions on social media after claims surfaced that the woman, reported by some platforms as 20 years old, allegedly took her life after the incident.
Several social media posts linked the allegation to the Asaba-based content creator, with the matter drawing public attention and calls for a full investigation by the police.
The police have not yet released full details of the investigation, including whether the suspect has made a statement, the exact circumstances surrounding the allegation, or when he will be charged to court.
As of filing this report, there was also no official disclosure on whether an autopsy or other investigative steps had been ordered in relation to the woman’s death.
The arrest marks the beginning of a criminal investigation, and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
