OPM Founder Offers Free Accommodation, Education, Healthcare to South African Returnees

The Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has announced a comprehensive support package for Nigerian families returning from South Africa, offering free accommodation, education, healthcare, and skills acquisition to help them rebuild their lives.

In a statement shared on social media, Chinyere said he received reports that some Nigerian returnees were sleeping at the airport after arriving in the country. He appealed to them to take advantage of OPM’s free accommodation facilities instead of remaining stranded.

According to him, the offer is specifically for returnees with families. He stated that beneficiaries would be provided with free accommodation until they are financially stable and able to support themselves again.

The cleric also announced that children of the affected families would be enrolled free of charge in any of OPM’s 43 free schools, with free daily transportation provided to and from school. He added that students who complete their secondary education under the programme would automatically qualify for OPM university scholarships to study in Nigerian universities without sitting for the ministry’s regular scholarship examination.

In addition, Chinyere said both parents and their children would receive free medical care through OPM’s free hospitals.

To support economic recovery, he disclosed that shops would be provided to mothers to enable them restart small businesses allegedly destroyed during recent unrest in South Africa. He also said men would receive free vocational training through OPM’s skills acquisition centres to help them gain employable skills and become self-reliant.

The pastor urged Nigerians to circulate the information so that affected returnees who may be unaware of the initiative can benefit from it. He maintained that the entire programme is funded through tithes and offerings contributed by members of OPM.

The announcement comes amid the ongoing repatriation of Nigerians from South Africa following renewed security concerns and xenophobic attacks. The Federal Government has confirmed that evacuation flights are fully funded and that returnees are receiving official support upon arrival in Nigeria.
