Osun 2026: Over 150 ADC members defect to APC

No fewer than 150 members of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osogbo on Monday defected to All Progressives Congress (APC) as the August 15 gubernatorial election in Osun State draws near.

The defectors stated that they left ADC because of marginalization by the Omoluabi caucus that joined the party along with the former Governor of the state and former Minister of Interior,  Rauf Aregbesola.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors,  Faruk Isa expressed gratitude to the Senatorial candidate of APC for Osun Central Senatorial District, Barrister Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), popularly known as K-RAD for receiving them into the party.

Adegoke received the defectors at his campaign office at Alekuwodo in Osogbo together with APC candidates for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Taofeek Kayode aka ITK, Olorunda Constituency, Dr Samuel Sanusi and Osogbo Constituency, Abdulahi Ayodeji Olaiya.

He charged the defectors to work hard for the victory of the APC Governorship candidate in the August 15 gubernatorial election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) to become the next Governor of Osun State.

Adegoke said Oyebamiji is a very competent technocrat with necessary competence and leadership qualities required to take the state to higher heights.

Adegoke appealed to people of Osun State to vote for Oyebamiji in the August 15 governorship election with assurance that they would not be disappointed.
