A passenger aboard the Enugu Air aircraft that crash-landed at Benin Airport on Thursday afternoon has recounted the terrifying moments before and after the incident, expressing gratitude for surviving the ordeal.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the visibly shaken passenger described how the aircraft encountered heavy rainfall while approaching Benin Airport, making visibility extremely poor for the pilots.
According to the survivor, the pilot initially attempted to land but was forced to abort the approach due to the severe weather conditions. Moments later, the aircraft crash-landed, throwing passengers into panic.
The passenger alleged that several people sustained injuries, including broken limbs, during the impact, while expressing disbelief at surviving the incident.
“I thank God for my life. I never imagined I would experience something like this. The rain was very heavy, and we couldn’t even see outside the aircraft. I thought all my big dreams were about to end today,” the passenger said in the viral video.
