Kemi Filani reported in May that the elder sister of Teni shared the devastating news on her Instagram story, posting photos of herself and her husband over the years. Though not disclosing the cause of the death, Nini announced that God had taken him away from her after 13 years.

Following his death, she shared videos of her husband as she expressed heartbreak over his demise. She said there was never a dull moment with him and expressed her honour at having met him.

Still mourning him, the singer said she can’t survive his death as she looks forward to him coming home. She said they were always together in the house, and that he always wanted her by his side, as she was naturally a loner.

While giving a speech about her late husband at his Service of Songs, the singer said he did everything for her and even breathed for her. She said her husband loved her so much, and she learned so much from him. She described the deceased as her engine, as he was the first person she saw in the morning and the last person she saw at night.

A Twitter user questioned how she kept him private for 13 years and was now updating the public on his death. He pointed out the irony that she didn’t want pictures on the internet when he was alive, but was posting him after his demise.

Still dealing with the loss, she questioned why God didn’t take her life and called him a jealous God. She noted how He took that one person who made her life worth it, and chose not to spare his life to flex His muscles.

She asked where her husband was, saying she couldn’t live without him.
