IShowSpeed shared a hilarious moment with Seyi Tinubu during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after jokingly asking him to tell President Bola Tinubu to get him a Nigerian passport.
The viral encounter comes months after the American streamer won over many Nigerians during his Speed Does Africa tour, where he visited Lagos, met top entertainers and celebrated his birthday.
American online streamer Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, shared a lighthearted moment with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.
A clip from IShowSpeed’s livestream showed Seyi Tinubu, dressed in a Spain jersey, seated in the VIP section alongside his children and other family members as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the World Cup.
Earlier in the day, IShowSpeed entertained fans during the tournament’s closing ceremony, opening the pre-match show with a performance of his latest single, “World Cup (Champions),” backed by drummers and dancers.
During the livestream, a member of Seyi Tinubu’s entourage informed the streamer that the president’s son was present. IShowSpeed walked over, greeted the family, posed for photos with the children and exchanged pleasantries with Seyi Tinubu.
“It is nice meeting you,” Seyi Tinubu told the American streamer after they shook hands.
The encounter ended with a joke that quickly went viral as IShowSpeed said, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport!” leaving everyone around laughing before he continued interacting with fans.
The playful exchange comes months after IShowSpeed’s widely publicised Speed Does Africa tour, during which he visited Nigeria and received a warm welcome from fans. During the trip, he livestreamed visits to Lagos Island, Freedom Park and the Nike Art Gallery, met Afrobeats stars Davido and Zlatan Ibile, and celebrated his 21st birthday in Lagos.
The viral clip has since generated reactions across social media, with many Nigerians amused by the streamer’s joke.
