Popular Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanere, widely known as Prophet “Tinubu’s A Businessman, Not A President”- Odumeje Slams Tinubu, has stirred reactions after calling for the return of Ibeto Cement, while urging people in the eastern part of the country to stop patronising Dangote Cement.
In a recent statement, the controversial preacher described the comeback of Ibeto Cement as inevitable, presenting it as both a declaration and a prophecy.
“Ibeto Cement must come back. That’s a statement and a prophecy. The East must stop using Dangote Cement. It’s a warning,” Odumeje said.
His comments have sparked conversations among Nigerians, particularly regarding competition in the country’s cement industry and the importance of supporting indigenous businesses.
Ibeto Cement, owned by businessman Cletus Ibeto, was once considered one of Nigeria’s notable cement companies before facing operational challenges that affected its activities in the sector.
Meanwhile, Dangote Cement, owned by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, remains one of the largest cement producers in Africa, with a strong presence across Nigeria and several other African countries.
Odumeje’s remarks have generated mixed reactions, with some supporters agreeing with his call for the promotion of locally owned companies, while others questioned the basis of his warning against using a particular brand.
