Afrobeats star Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger, has opened up about his desire to settle down, revealing that his demanding career has made him crave the comfort of having a partner at home.
The singer shared his thoughts during a recent livestream with popular streamer Shank, where he spoke about his personal life and what he hopes to find in a future partner.
According to Ruger, his busy schedule often leaves him relying on takeout meals because he does not have someone at home to cook for him. He explained that this is one of the reasons he is considering marriage.
“I keep ordering takeouts because there is no one at home to cook for me. That’s one of the reasons I want to settle down,” he said.
The revelation gave fans an insight into the singer’s personal side, as he discussed his thoughts about building a home and having companionship beyond his music career.
However, Ruger clarified that his interest in settling down is not tied to a woman’s financial status. The singer stated that he is already financially secure and does not need a partner for monetary reasons.
“A woman’s financial status doesn’t matter to me. I am rich,” he said.
Ruger further revealed that he has dated women who were not employed in the past, adding that some of them were also not highly driven in their personal pursuits.
For the singer, the most important quality he values in a partner is a good sense of humour.
“I want someone who is funny,” he added.
The Afrobeats artiste also disclosed that he has earned over $2 million so far this year, reinforcing his point that his desire for a relationship is based on companionship rather than financial support.
