The Trump administration has decided not to renew the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), opting instead to shift to annual reviews of the trade pact rather than a long-term renewal.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the administration believes the agreement needs significant changes to address trade imbalances with Canada and Mexico. While USMCA remains in effect unless one of the three countries withdraws, the move is expected to keep trade negotiations ongoing.
