Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered firearms during an intelligence-led operation in Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The operation, carried out on 23 July by troops of the 233 Battalion in collaboration with the Yobe State Hunters Group, targeted suspected criminal elements at Jegalari Village following credible intelligence.

According to the military, the raid led to the recovery of three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects’ activities.

The suspects are currently in military custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in kidnapping and other criminal offences.

Operation HADIN KAI said it remains committed to sustaining intelligence-driven operations to deny terrorists and other criminal groups freedom of action across the North-East.

The military also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information on suspicious persons and activities to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to improve security in the region.
