VeryDarkMan Alleges Oyo Govt Paid Ransom But Abductors Refused to Release Kidnapped Pupils, Teachers

Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the Oyo State Government paid a ransom to secure the release of 39 abducted children and seven teachers, but the kidnappers allegedly refused to free them despite receiving the payment.

In a post shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan claimed he received information indicating that the ransom had been paid, yet the victims remain in captivity.

According to him, the abducted children and teachers have now spent 49 days in captivity.

> “Yesterday, I got information that the Oyo State Government paid ransom for the release of the 39 children and seven teachers that were abducted by bandits. It is said that after the government made the payment, the kidnappers still refused to release the children and teachers. As of today, they have spent exactly 49 days in captivity,” he said.

The activist did not provide evidence to support the claim, and the Oyo State Government has not issued an official statement confirming or denying the allegation as of the time of filing this report.
