A media aide to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has publicly called on social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, to apologise to Enoch Adejare Adeboye over his recent remarks about the respected cleric.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, Ossai warned that insulting the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God could attract what he described as “spiritual consequences.”
Ossai warns against attacking church leaders
According to Ossai, VeryDarkMan was wrong to direct criticism at Pastor Adeboye, insisting that the cleric is focused on praying for Nigeria rather than aligning with any political group.
“I have called on Very Dark Man to apologize to Pastor E.A. Adeboye, but he is proving difficult,” Ossai said.
“He may think he is building clout with his followers by attacking spirituality and dragging a man of God. But there are lines you do not cross.”
He further declared: “You cannot be rude to an iroko tree and expect to live long.”
Claims of spiritual consequences
Ossai maintained that Pastor Adeboye had not wronged anyone and argued that people often criticise the cleric whenever he refuses to meet their expectations on political or national issues.
“Pastor Adeboye is of God. He is not holding brief for any man or political camp. He is standing in the gap for the nation before God,” he stated.
He added, “History is clear: Satan has used many people to insult Baba Adeboye for no just cause.”
The governor’s aide also claimed that those who insult what he described as “a true servant of God” risk facing spiritual consequences.
Calls for apology
Expressing disappointment with the activist, Ossai urged VeryDarkMan to withdraw his remarks and apologise to the prominent pastor.
“I am genuinely disappointed in Very Dark Man. He should apologize to Pastor Adeboye and retrace his steps,” he concluded.
