Europe-based Nigerian feminist Obidi has called on Nigerian women to join a planned protest against femicide following the death of Favour, the 20-year-old lady who reportedly died by suicide after allegedly being raped by Asaba-based content creator Odogwu Asaba.
In a video shared online, Obidi urged women to come out in large numbers for the protest, saying it is aimed at demanding justice for Favour and drawing attention to violence against women in Nigeria.
“We are going to protest tomorrow against femicide in Nigeria.”
Her call has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting the initiative while others questioned the idea of organizing a protest from outside the country.
