Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has cried out after losing N5 million to a football bet.
On her Instagram page, she said she tried betting for the first time, with 5 million naira and lost. A heartbroken Destiny promised not to try it again or watch football. According to her, the anxiety almost killed her.

Will never try it again.
My 5M gone.
In fact, I’m done watching football.
Anxiety almost killed me”.
Last year, a day after Valentine, Destiny Etiko had acquired a Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. The movie star, via her Instagram page, shared a video that captured the moment her new whip finally arrived at her house.
Also, early last year, she revealed that she was fulfilling her dream of building the biggest bill payment mobile app in Africa. Crediting it to her Maker, she congratulated her and her team and urged her fans to stay tuned.
Some years back, Destiny was alleged to have been in a relationship with married businessman Jack Rich, the Chief Executive Officer of Belema Oil. Addressing the accusation, Destiny said she was innocent and knew nothing about the man.
In 2024, she reacted to rumours that her senior colleague, Omotola Ekeinde’s husband, had bought her a new car. In an Instagram Live, she debunked the report, stating that everything she had achieved was on her own and that she hadn’t benefited from any man.
In August of 2023, Etiko reflected on her humble beginnings, revealing that she wasn’t earning more than N100k when she started acting, but today the situation has reversed. She stated that the passion she has for her job, which still overwhelms her, was what kept her from giving up.
