Nigerian rapper Erigga has opened up about his views on polygamy, describing it as detrimental to both women and children.

Drawing from his personal experience growing up in a polygamous family, the rapper explained that such arrangements often lead to emotional harm with women and children bearing the brunt, not the man.

During a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Erigga shared that his upbringing has influenced his decision to avoid following in his father’s footsteps.

“I’m trying not to be like my father. I don’t like polygamy; one person always ends up getting hurt the woman. In polygamous relationships, it’s rarely the man who suffers; it’s always the women and the kids,” he said.

The rapper further encouraged men to embrace monogamy, which he described as a simpler and more emotionally stable alternative that benefits everyone involved.
