A group, the Kano State Coalition for Good Governance, advocating for the reelection of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, has condemned efforts by some individuals to thwart their efforts.
The group announced this at a special press conference in Kano on Wednesday, through the Chairman of the Coalition, Mukhar Tukur Gadanya, while also calling Nigerians within and outside Kano to disregard the plot.
The group further praised Senator Barau for good representation and for serving the people of Kano North and the State at large.
“These disgruntled elements and agents of destabilization are working in cohort with some external forces to deny the people of Kano North Senatorial Zone and Kano state in general the opportunity to continue to enjoy the selfless service being offered through the representation of Senator Barau Jibrin.
“ He has over the years served the people of Kano North, Kano State and Nigeria as a whole in the area of human development and empowerment, infrastructural development”.
“These undesirable elements no doubt seek to impose their will to only serve their anti-Kano people interest.
“It is important to mention that Senator Barau Jibrin’s representation is in line with the cardinal principles upon which democracy as the best system of government was institutionalized.”
The group further reiterated that the people of Kano North stand firmly with Senator Barau, adding that no amount of political intriques will override their collective will for better governance and presentations.
