
The lawmaker representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, has officially declared his intention to seek re-election in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Midat Joseph, the senator pledged his support for the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kaduna state governor, Uba Sani.
According to the statement, Katung made the declaration during a meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen from the Kaduna South Senatorial District held in Abuja.
He said the decision to seek a second term was aimed at “consolidating the gains already recorded, completing ongoing projects and initiatives, and sustaining quality representation for the people of Southern Kaduna.”
He said the “Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani’s development drive require experienced and committed lawmakers who can translate policies into tangible benefits at the grassroots.”
The lawmaker charged party stakeholders and officials to “intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections,” stressing the need for Southern Kaduna to remain firmly aligned with the APC in order to sustain the developmental strides already achieved.
