According to a report by Leadership, on Thursday April 30, 2026, Adamu Mohammed Yakubu, the Zonal Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North Central, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 general election, stating that the party is now firmly in control of the entire North Central region and is politically stronger than before.….....
Yakubu explained that recent political developments have boosted the APC’s chances ahead of the next election, he pointed to the defection of the Plateau State governor to the ruling party as a major turning point, according to him, this move has completed APC’s dominance across the region.
He stated that the party already controls Kwara, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Benue States, with Plateau now aligned, he said the North Central is fully under APC influence and ready to deliver massive support for President Tinubu.
Yakubu spoke about the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), he said the APC is not only aiming for a small margin of victory there but is working towards a total win and noted that ongoing development projects in Abuja would help increase public support, he urged improved workers’ welfare and fair distribution of benefits across all wards in the FCT.
Yakubu acknowledged concerns over hunger and insecurity, he said these problems are part of deeper economic reforms and will take time to resolve and urged Nigerians to remain patient, saying progress is ongoing and improvements will come.
He dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a weak opposition, saying the party lacks unity and structure, he insisted that APC remains far ahead politically.
“The President is disbursing funds to governors. So, the entire North Central will vote for President Tinubu en masse,” he vowed.
