Former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Adewale Adesanya, has congratulated former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, on his 70th birthday, describing him as the “architect of modern Ogun State.”

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Adesanya praised Daniel’s developmental strides, noting that his administration laid the foundation for key infrastructural, educational, and socio-economic growth across the state.

He said, “Senator Gbenga Daniel is a visionary leader whose impact on Ogun State remains visible. He is indeed the architect of modern Ogun State.”

Adesanya, however, highlighted a deeply personal experience, recalling how Daniel’s administration changed the course of his life through the Jigawa Education Trust (JET) programme.

According to him, the intervention of the programme ensured that his school fees were paid following the demise of his father, enabling him to remain in school and achieve academic success.

“The JET programme was a lifeline for me. After the death of my father, I was uncertain about my future, but Senator Daniel’s administration came through for me. My school fees were paid, and that singular act restored my hope and shaped my life,” he said.

The former lawmaker commended Daniel’s legislative contributions in the Senate, noting that his representation of Ogun East has been marked by impactful motions and constituency projects, particularly in infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

He added that Daniel’s leadership, both as governor and senator, reflects a commitment to public service and human capital development.

Adesanya prayed for the continued good health and long life of the former governor, expressing confidence that his legacy would endure for generations.

“On this milestone of your 70th birthday, I pray for more years of good health and greater service to humanity. Your legacy will continue to speak for you,” he said.
