The statement noted that the new REC, an indigene of Abeokuta in Ogun State, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 and served as a member of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission between 2012 and 2016.

It added that Agboke had also held the position of Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ondo, Oyo and Osun states, where he played key roles in supervising the 2019 and 2023 general elections.

INEC described him as a seasoned administrator known for his integrity, transparency and professionalism in the conduct of elections.

“Dr Agboke’s track record and experience will undoubtedly enhance the integrity of the electoral system in the state,” the statement read.
