Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi on Saturday vowed that President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid would no doubt receive unwavering support and backing of Kebbi people.

Idris made the remarks at a state unity rally held at the Haliru Abdu Multi-Purpose Stadium, Birnin Kebbi.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the rally was organised by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state as a show of solidarity with the president and the governor.

The governor insisted that Kebbi had no reason not to support Mr President in view of the developmental projects and appointments accrued to the state.

Idris noted that the people of the state have continued to identify with the president’s leadership.

He also cited ongoing developmental projects and federal interventions as evidence of the administration’s commitment to Kebbi.

“We have every reason to support President Tinubu. The impact of his administration is visible, and our people can attest to the progress recorded over the past few years,” Me Idris added.

He described the prevailing unity within the APC in the state as a strong signal of continued support for the president and the party’s leadership.

“Today is a historic day for all of us. I am particularly delighted by the unity within our party and among the people of Kebbi.

“This unity clearly demonstrates that Kebbi remains firmly aligned with the APC and our leader, President Bola Tinubu,” he noted.

The governor emphasised his administration’s resolve to sustain and build upon the achievements of previous governments in the state.

“We are consolidating on the gains of past administrations and will continue to advance development across the state.

“The party stakeholders and supporters in the state are united in their resolve to back both the president and his administration for a second term.

“We have collectively agreed to support President Tinubu and sustain our administration beyond the first term.
“We will not allow anyone to mislead our people, given the tangible achievements of the APC,” he assured.

Earlier, the APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, said the rally drew participants from all 21 Local Government Areas, 225 wards and over 3,700 polling units across the state.

“These are genuine supporters from across Kebbi, not a rented crowd as seen elsewhere. The turnout is unprecedented and reflects the widespread acceptance of the APC,” he said.

Also speaking, the party’s National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu, commended the massive turnout and urged party members to remain guided by internal democratic processes.

“Our party operates on established principles, including primaries and consensus.

“Members should continue to uphold these processes in selecting candidates,” Mr Argungu said.

In her remarks, the APC Women Leader in the state, Hajiya A’isha Gunabi, reaffirmed the commitment of women to the party’s success in future elections.

“Women remain central to electoral victories. We are fully aligned with Gov. Idris and will support all candidates endorsed by the party to ensure victory in the 2027 general elections,” she said.

NAN reports that dignitaries at the event included the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu; Sen. Adamu Aliero, (APC-Kebbi Central), Sen. Garba Musa Maidoki, (APC-Kebbi South), Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi (APC- Kebbi North) as well as a former governor of the state, Alhaji Saidu Dakingari.

Also in attendance were members of the House of Representatives, the State House of Assembly, the State Executive Council, and other APC stakeholders among others.
