According to Aljazeera News, the Ukrainian military announced that Russian forces have sustained record-breaking casualties over the past month, citing intense fighting along the eastern front lines, particularly in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, daily enemy losses have reached unprecedented levels since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022. While independent verification remains difficult, Ukrainian officials describe the surge as a direct result of Russian human wave assaults on fortified positions.
“Russia is throwing everything it has forward, but every advance comes at a staggering human cost, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said, though the original quote was retained from a separate diplomatic context.
A senior Ukrainian defense official added, “We are witnessing the highest 30-day casualty figure since the start of the war, the Kremlin treats its soldiers as expendable.
Neither Russia nor independent organizations have confirmed the figures. Moscow rarely discloses its military losses, and Western intelligence estimates typically place Russian casualty numbers lower than Ukraine’s claims but still historically significant.
The reported losses come as Ukraine awaits delayed military aid from the United States and Europe. Military analysts warn that while Russian attrition is severe, Moscow continues to recruit and redeploy fresh troops. The UN has called for both sides to verify casualty data amid growing concerns over the war’s mounting human toll.
