The Nigerian Military has conducted the burial of Brigadier-General Omo Braimo, alongside other officers and soldiers who lost their lives while serving in active duty.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri, Borno State, where the fallen personnel were laid to rest with full military honours in recognition of their service and sacrifice to the nation.
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, attended the ceremony alongside Defence Minister, Christopher Musa and senior military officers. The Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff were also present at the event.
In their tributes, officials described the deceased as patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the country.
They said the soldiers’ bravery and commitment would continue to inspire future generations. Prayers were offered for the repose of their souls, while citations of their service were read before their families.
The military said the sacrifice of the fallen soldiers reflects the cost of efforts to maintain peace and security in the country.
