Culprits linked to the recent killings in Jos will soon be brought to justice as security efforts intensify across Plateau state, Inspector General of Police, IGP Ralwan Olatunji Disu, has assured.

The IGP gave the assurance, Thursday, during a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Government House, Jos.

“This is a very sad incident, and we have been doing everything in our powers to ensure that we get to the bottom of the matter. We cannot say 100 percent we have been able to apprehend the suspects. But as I speak with you, we have some suspects. We are very sure, very soon we will get to the bottom of it,” the IGP said.

Responding, Governor Mutfwang called for strengthened security deployment, including increased personnel and modern technology, to tackle the threats in the state.

“I didn’t see the issue of state policing as dismantling the entire police, I see it as restructuring so that we can have efficiency,” he said.

The governor further stated the need for more boots on the ground, enhanced intelligence gathering through night drones, and improved capacity of the Criminal Investigation Departments (CIDs) for effective prosecution.

He also appealed for the establishment of additional police formations across the state to improve response and coverage.
