Ebonyi state indigenes resident in Lagos have thrown their weight behind Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A large-scale solidarity rally held at Ebonyi House in Maryland, Lagos, attracted a broad spectrum of participants, including traders, professionals, artisans and community leaders.

Convened by Nwigwe Chibueze Uzo under the aegis of the Omni Grassroot Ambassadors (OGA), the rally served as a platform to galvanise support for continuity in governance.

Participants Tuesday expressed satisfaction with the governor’s performance, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, security and welfare, noting that his administration’s “People’s Charter of Needs” has had visible impact across the state.

The gathering echoed with chants and songs as attendees declared their support for Nwifuru’s second term, describing it as necessary to sustain ongoing development initiatives.

Beyond the governorship, the rally also endorsed Kama Nkemkanma, representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, and Anthony Okorie Ani of Ebonyi South Senatorial District, for another term in the National Assembly.

Speakers at the event cited their legislative performance and constituency development efforts as justification for their continued representation.

The rally further expressed support for the Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi and commended his contributions to national infrastructure development and urging critics not to distract him from his duties.

Organisers said the turnout and level of participation underscored growing unity among Ebonyi indigenes in Lagos.
