
Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of his aide, Sonfada, Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud.
In his condolence message, the Etsu Nupe described the late Mahmud who died on Saturday in Bida, Niger state as a pious, loyal, hardworking and dedicated personality who served the emirate with utmost commitment and sincerity.
The royal father said the deceased was a dependable and trusted palace official whose contributions to the administration of the Nupe Emirate would be greatly missed.
According to him, the late Sonfada was known for his honesty, humility and dedication to duty, adding that he remained a strong pillar in the palace and a reliable servant of the emirate.
The Etsu Nupe noted that the late Alhaji Mahmud played a significant role in ensuring the smooth conduct of daily activities within the emirate, describing his death as a painful loss not only to the palace but to the entire Nupe Kingdom.
“He was a man who showed genuine love and respect to people within our domain, irrespective of their tribe or religious inclination.
“His wise counsel, humility and commitment to service greatly contributed to the peace and unity we continue to enjoy in the emirate,” the royal father said.
While noting that God gives and takes life at His appointed time, the Etsu Nupe said the emirate had indeed lost a devoted servant whose legacy of service and dedication would remain memorable.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, associates and the entire Nupe Kingdom the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
