Fox News ground to a screeching halt as King Charles III and Queen Camilla landed in Washington, D.C., for their historic state visit with President Donald Trump and Melania Trump. The royals are making the trip to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. As a breaking news alert flashed at the bottom of the screen, Fox News viewers could see Charles wearing a dark suit and Camilla donning a light pink Dior dress with a special Cartier brooch as they disembarked their aircraft. “Alright, here comes the King and Queen,” reporter Gerry Baker said before live music played to celebrate the King and Queen’s arrival on US soil.
He added: “The King and Queen are being greeted by Monica Crowley, who is very familiar to viewers of Fox News. She’s now the Chief of Protocol for the White House.”
The presenter said Monica has been “very much” looking forward to the state visit and is “taking the helm on all of the America 250 celebrations”.
Charles and Camilla have kept calm and carried on with their visit despite a shooter taking aim at Trump less than 48 hours ago.
The pair arrived at Joint Base Andrews, near Washington, at around 7.35pm UK time today.
