The Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN) has celebrated veteran Fuji legend, Alhaji Azeez Alarape Adio Oladeji, popularly known as Love Azeez, on his 81st birthday, describing him as a pioneer whose legacy shaped the growth of Fuji music, reports thegazellenews.com.
Thegazellenews.com recalled that Agege-based Love Azeez was an in-law to the widely acclaimed founder of Fuji music, Late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
Thegazellenews.com recalled that the late Barrister was married to Morufa, Love Azeez’s younger sister and they had a son named Morufdeen together.
The tribute, issued by FUMAN and signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Ade Bola Muili, marked the milestone birthday of the octogenarian.
Celebrating the Fuji icon, the association said Love Azeez’s life reflected resilience, discipline and enduring influence, noting that his contributions remain central to the evolution of Fuji music.
“Today, we celebrate a living legend, Alhaji Azeez Alarape Adio Oladeji, fondly known as Love Azeez, as he marks the incredible age of 81 years. A true icon and the oldest Fuji music legend on earth, your life is a testament to grace, endurance and extraordinary musical legacy,” the statement read.
It further noted that the celebrant witnessed and influenced the transformation of Fuji music over the decades.
“Your journey through the years has been nothing short of inspiring. You have witnessed the evolution of Fuji music and played a vital role in shaping its foundation, growth and global recognition. Your name is etched in gold as one of the pioneers whose passion and talent laid the groundwork for generations to follow,” FUMAN added.
In addition, the association described him as a symbol of cultural pride whose legacy continues to inspire younger generations.
“Through your timeless contributions, discipline and dedication, you have become a symbol of wisdom and cultural pride in the Fuji music industry. Your legacy continues to speak volumes,” it stated.
FUMAN, under the leadership of Alhaji Sikiru Agboola Ayinde, also prayed for his continued good health and longevity.
“As you celebrate this remarkable milestone, we wish you continued good health, long life, peace of mind and everlasting joy. May Almighty Allah continue to strengthen you and crown your years with honour and fulfilment,” the statement added.
