Longtime Georgia Democratic Congressman David Scott has died at the age of 80.
Scott represented Georgia’s 13th Congressional District for more than two decades and was running for a 13th term in the May 19 primary.
His political career began in 1974 in the Georgia House of Representatives. He later served in the state Senate before being elected to Congress in 2003.
