President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door security meeting with top Nigeria security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting includes service chiefs, intelligence heads and the Inspector-General of Police, and is focused on the recent escalation of attacks on military formations in parts of the country.

Present at the meeting are the Chief of Defence Staff, the National Security Adviser, the service chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Inspector-General of Police.

The discussions are taking place amid growing concerns over renewed terrorist attacks targeting security installations across the country.

In the past few days, top military officers and soldiers have been killed by Boko Haram in Borno state, with other killings and kidnappings in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, Niger, Katsina states and other parts of the country.

However, the security authorities said efforts are in top gear top to curtail and ultimately end insecurity in Nigeria.
