A woman in her 20s was allegedly raped by three men while she was out with her fiancé. The alleged attack is understood to have happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district in India on Friday, and police have arrested two people.

Police say the alleged incident occurred in the Khaga Kotwali area after the couple stopped on their way to a relative’s house due to the intense heat. Two men allegedly approached them and began abusing them. It was then that the suspects allegedly assaulted the man and held him captive while they raped the woman.

A third suspect was allegedly called to the scene later, where all three men allegedly took turns assaulting her for nearly three hours.

According to the victims, they were beaten, threatened, and the man was forced to transfer ₹2,500 (£20) online, reports Hindustan Times.

The couple also allege that they were forced to make a video stating that “nothing had happened,” as they were warned not to alert the police.

Police have arrested two people, Lalit and Yuvraj Singh, on suspicion of rape and extortion.

While another suspect, Bablu Singh, remains on the run, with a ₹50,000 (£390) reward being offered for information on his whereabouts.
