Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State says the state has witnessed significant improvements in security, infrastructure and human development since he assumed office in 2023.

Sani made the assertion at a workshop for senior government officials organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as part of the Nigeria Public Relations Week, Croc City 2026, in Kaduna.

The workshop, themed “From Policy To Public Trust: Strategic Communication For Vision Alignment And Governance Delivery For Renewed Hope,” was attended by commissioners, special advisers, counsellors, permanent secretaries and other top officials.

The governor said he inherited a state with immense potential but weighed down by insecurity, infrastructure deficits and poor social indicators.

“Kaduna is not where it was. Kaduna is by far a better place today and is on the path to greater heights,” he said.

He explained that his administration adopted a results-driven governance model anchored on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure accountability and measurable impact across ministries, departments and agencies.

Sani said his government’s agenda was structured around seven strategic pillars: security, infrastructure, institutional strengthening, trade and investment, agriculture, human capital development and citizen engagement.

According to him, the pillars are interconnected and designed to transform Kaduna into a secure, prosperous and inclusive state.

On security, the governor said his administration collaborated with the Office of the National Security Adviser and military authorities to establish bases in high-risk areas, including Giwa, Birnin Gwari and Southern Kaduna.

He added that over 150 operational vehicles and 500 motorcycles had been deployed to security agencies, while a Joint Task Force had helped reduce crime in urban centres.

Sani said more than 20,000 hectares of farmland had been reclaimed, over 1,000 displaced persons resettled and more than 117,000 internally displaced persons were receiving support.

He also highlighted the establishment of a forensic laboratory and the Kaduna Incident Report Centre (KAD-IR) to enhance emergency response.

The governor said peace building initiatives, including local peace councils and reintegration programmes, were being implemented under the “Kaduna Peace Model.”

In the education sector, Sani said 736 classrooms had been constructed and over 1,200 renovated, while 10,000 teachers were recruited and more than 33,000 personnel trained.

He added that the number of out-of-school children dropped from about 550,000 to 187,720 within two years.

According to him, the state is also promoting skills development through the establishment of an Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development.

On healthcare, the governor said 255 primary healthcare centres had been upgraded, alongside the creation of 23 centres of excellence and a 300-bed specialist hospital.

Sani further said about 150 road projects covering over 1,300 kilometres had been initiated to enhance connectivity and economic growth.

He disclosed that the agricultural budget increased from ₦1.48 billion in 2023 to over ₦74 billion in 2026, with over 900 trucks of fertiliser distributed and more than 100,000 farmers enrolled in insurance schemes.

The governor added that 23 investments worth over 743 million dollars had been actualised between 2023 and 2025, with an additional pipeline of 2.77 billion dollars.

He said over 2.5 million bank accounts had been opened to boost financial inclusion, while more than ₦18 billion was disbursed to support households and businesses.

Sani noted that the state’s free CNG mass transit scheme had benefited over 1.4 million passengers.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, stating that “Project 255” would ensure ₦100 million investment in each ward across the state.(NAN
