The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) has trained 60 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Katsina State on export readiness, exhibition skills and digital marketing, in a move to expand market access for local businesses.
The two-day intensive programme, themed “Unlocking Market Opportunities: Empowering MSMEs through Exhibition Excellence and Digital Marketing,” focused on practical strategies to help entrepreneurs position their products, improve branding and packaging, and maximise visibility at trade exhibitions.
Participants were taken through sessions on market access, customer behaviour, content creation and sales conversion, alongside digital marketing tools such as Instagram and WhatsApp Business. Hands-on activities, including exhibition simulations and content labs, were integrated to provide real-world experience.
On export readiness, the training covered compliance and regulatory requirements involving agencies like the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control and Standards Organisation of Nigeria. MSMEs were also introduced to export documentation processes, logistics planning, product standardisation and strategies for accessing international buyers.
KASEDA said the initiative is part of its broader mandate to strengthen MSME capacity through targeted interventions. “This training is designed to equip businesses with the tools required to compete effectively,” the agency noted, adding that participants developed actionable growth plans through mentorship sessions and guided implementation frameworks.
