Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state, Tuesday, commended operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) for the arrest of high-profile kidnappers and gunrunners in the state.

Mbah gave the commendation during a visit to the agency’s state headquarters in Enugu.

The daredevil suspects are Kelvin Azodo, David Chukuwnonso and Arinze Kalu, who, according to the DSS, have been responsible for series of attacks on security operatives and kidnapping for ransom in  Enugu and its environs, adding that residents would finally be relieved of their reign of terror in the state.

The governor expressed dismay at how able-bodied individuals could abandon human decency for heinous crimes and stressed that the full weight of the law awaited the criminals.

He praised the DSS for their professionalism, discipline, and role in ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration.

The governor also urged the command to sustain the momentum in the maintenance of security, which he described as the core duty of government.

Speaking further, the governor expressed particular delight over the arrest of the high-target gang leaders.
