Chelsea FC midfielder Moises Caicedo has agreed to a lucrative new contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The Ecuador international had been seeking improved terms after playing a key role in last season’s Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs.

Moises Caicedo’s previous eight-year deal was signed following his £100m move from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023, a fee that could rise to £115m and was later eclipsed by Liverpool FC’s £125m signing of striker Alexander Isak.

NOP NIGERIA reports that Chelsea’s captain Reece James recently signed fresh terms, while Cole Palmer was handed a performance-related pay rise earlier in the season.

During the international break, Caicedo was asked about a possible move to Real Madrid and replied: “I’m focused on my club right now. I want to be a legend.”

Chelsea regards the 24-year-old as one of the world’s leading midfielders and he is part of the club’s captaincy group. He started every Premier League match last season under former boss Enzo Maresca and has remained ever-present this campaign, making 42 appearances and scoring five goals from a defensive midfield role.

Elsewhere in the squad, Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill have discussed potential new contracts in recent months. Fernandez is returning from a two-game internal ban after comments made on international duty about wanting to live in Spain’s capital. His agent Javier Pastore told The Athletic: “[He] deserves much more than he is currently earning.”

Chelsea sit sixth in the Premier League and face Manchester United FC at Stamford Bridge next as they chase Champions League qualification.
