Ngwu lauds Nigerian Air Force on anti-terrorism fight, pledges continous legislative support

The Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force, Sen. Osita Ngwu has commended the Nigerian Air Force under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for its renewed vigour and strategic approach in the fight against terrorism across the country.

In a statement from his office, the lawmaker praised the Air Chief for his commitment to leveraging modern technology, intelligence-driven air operations, and intensified training programmes, noting that these measures have significantly enhanced the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

According to him, the adoption of precision air strikes and improved intelligence coordination has continued to yield positive results in dismantling terrorist networks and restoring stability in affected regions.

The lawmaker acknowledged the critical role of the Federal Government under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, commending his unwavering support for the Armed Forces.

While acknowledging that the provision of critical resources has significantly strengthened the military’s capacity to discharge its duties, Sen. Ngwu emphasized the need for increased funding, noting that the fight against insurgency is capital-intensive and requires sustained financial support to achieve lasting success.

The lawmaker pledged the continued support of the National Assembly through its air force and relevant security committees in strengthening the nation’s security architecture.

He said that the parliament would sustain its collaboration with the Armed Forces through timely approvals, oversight, and policies aimed at enhancing operational capacity.

“The National Assembly remains resolute in its duty to support our gallant men and women in uniform. We will continue to provide the legislative backing required to ensure that the fight against terrorism is sustained and ultimately won,” he assured

The lawmaker urged Nigerians to continue supporting the military and other security agencies through cooperation, vigilance, and provision of credible information to security authorities.
