Amid economic hardship and national uncertainty, the Lead Pastor, City of Truth and Grace Assembly (CTGA), Pastor Dipo Fisho, Sunday called for spiritual and structural rebirth of Nigeria, asserting that faith is the substance required to turn the nation’s fortunes around.
Speaking to journalists at the Easter service in Abuja, the cleric shared the vision of a prosperous future, declaring that Nigeria will be a great country and that Nigerians will prosper through the establishment of the leadership the nation truly deserves.
He stated that this transformation is possible through the power of God’s spirit and the institution of principled governance.
When addressed on how faith can tackle systemic issues like poverty, corruption and inequality, he stated that faith provides the necessary evidence for change even when progress seems slow.
He urged citizens to remain gracious, hopeful, and perseverant in all endeavors, trusting that anything can be turned around with faith.
He stated that every great leader in the Bible was guided by the Word of God, specifically citing “righteousness, peace, and helping the poor” as essential pillars for policy makers.
On the topic of economic empowerment, he argued that while capital is important, it can be misused without a foundation of hope. However, “with faith and hope… God blesses it, it becomes more, it becomes multiplied.”
Pastor fisho did not mince words regarding the current administration’s responsibilities, particularly concerning the vulnerable and the rising tide of insecurity. The Bible talks about ‘he that giveth to the poor lendeth to God…’ We must not neglect the poor. We must not trample on the poor.”
He also challenged government to address the ongoing violence in the country decisively, stating that bloodshed is not good for a nation and that the authorities possess the wherewithal to stop it.
As Nigeria continues to navigate its current challenges, the man of Gods, message serves as a reminder that for many, the path to economic and social stability is inextricably linked to a foundation of righteousness and divine guidance.
