The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has thrown its weight behind the ongoing “20 Days of Eloquence Nigeria Speaks to the World,” a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest public speaking relay, currently underway in Lagos.

The Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, approved the participation of NSCDC personnel in the global speaking initiative, which runs from April 1 to April 21, 2026.

At the state level, Lagos State Commandant, Adedotun Keshinro, charged participating officers to see themselves as worthy ambassadors of the Corps, urging them to project professionalism and excellence on the international stage.

Welcoming the NSCDC team to the platform in Osborne, Ikoyi, the Dean of the School of Eloquence, Ubong Essien, received Assistant Commandant of Corps Adebimpe Bada and Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, who are representing the Corps in the record-breaking attempt.

The event offers a strategic platform for the NSCDC to showcase its core responsibilities, including the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, the Safe School Initiative, disaster and crisis management, intelligence gathering, community engagement, regulation of private guard companies, and VIP protection.

Significantly, Saturday, April 11, marked the halfway milestone of the 20-day marathon. Assistant Commandant Adebimpe Bada successfully completed the first half of the relay, while Superintendent Oluwaseun Abolurin commenced the second phase—continuing the push toward setting a new global record in public speaking.

The initiative not only highlights Nigeria’s voice on the world stage but also reinforces the NSCDC’s commitment to public engagement and national security awareness.
