Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has criticised Peter Obi over his recent remarks on northern Nigeria, describing them as hypocritical.
Obi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former governor of Anambra State, had said he would prioritise the development of the north, calling the region the country’s greatest asset.
Reacting to the statement, Sowore alleged that Obi’s position contradicts his record as governor. He claimed that Obi, while leading Anambra, repatriated northerners from the state.
Sowore argued that politicians should be consistent in their actions and public statements, adding that Obi’s current praise for the north does not align with his past decisions in office.
Obi has not publicly responded to Sowore’s comments as of press time.
