The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has honoured a popular broadcaster, Rev. Tolulope Taiwo, widely known as Pastor T, with the Media and Communication Excellence Award in recognition of his contributions to the fellowship’s activities.
The honour formed part of a broader ceremony in which the fellowship also celebrated its founding fathers and unveiled a new leadership vision aimed at strengthening unity, moral standards and infrastructural development.
The event, held amid prayers and reflections, also featured the dedication of a newly completed hall and drew clerics, stakeholders and members from across the fellowship.
A senior cleric, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who was absent due to an overseas engagement, conveyed his goodwill through a message delivered at the gathering.
He apologised for his absence and commended the leadership of the fellowship, particularly its chairman, for resilience and commitment to achieving set goals.
Adeboye also lauded the recognition accorded to the founding fathers, describing their contributions as pivotal to the growth and stability of the fellowship.
“The honour given to our fathers is well deserved. Their sacrifices, prayers and guidance have laid the foundation we are all building upon today,” he said.
Outgoing leaders, in their reflections, described the past eight years as impactful, citing sustained unity, visible growth and strong spiritual backing from senior ministers.
They noted that the period witnessed improved collaboration among members and consistent support from faith leaders, which contributed to the stability of the body.
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new chairman, who outlined his administration’s priorities.
He said his leadership would focus on deepening love among members, promoting practical teachings on faith and prosperity, and addressing social challenges such as marital and moral issues within the church.
“In times like this, people must understand how to live and prosper even within a difficult economic environment. We will continue to teach principles that guide both spiritual and everyday living,” he said.
The chairman also disclosed plans to upgrade the fellowship’s facilities to accommodate larger gatherings and multi-day programmes, noting that infrastructural development would be executed in phases.
On governance, he expressed confidence in working with the executive council, many of whom served in the previous administration, adding that continuity would enhance effective leadership.
“It is one vision, one direction. With unity of purpose, we will continue to move forward,” he stated.
Members were urged to view leadership positions as avenues for service rather than status, with a call for greater commitment to the fellowship’s mission.
The event ended with prayers for sustained growth, unity and spiritual advancement, as leaders encouraged members to remain steadfast in their faith and collective responsibility.
