The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State chapter, has honoured the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, with a prestigious award in recognition of his immense contributions to the growth of the fellowship and the development of its secretariat.
The honour was conferred during a well-attended ceremony held at the Pastor E.A. Adeboye Legacy Hall, named after the revered cleric in acknowledgment of his pivotal role in the building of the PFN secretariat.
Adeboye, who was unavoidably absent due to an overseas engagement, was represented at the event by the RCCG National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, who received the award on his behalf.
Akande commended the Ogun PFN leadership for the recognition, describing it as well deserved, while noting that Adeboye remained committed to the unity and advancement of the Christian body.
The event also featured the honouring of other notable individuals, including popular broadcaster, Rev. Tolulope Taiwo, also known as Pastor T, who received the Media and Communication Excellence Award for his contributions to the fellowship’s activities.
In his remarks, the outgoing PFN Chairman in Ogun State, Apostle David A.B. Otaru, described his eight-year tenure as impactful and successful, attributing the achievements recorded to divine grace and collective commitment.
He expressed confidence in the incoming administration, led by Rev. (Dr.) Kunle Abdul, stating that the fellowship was poised for greater progress under the new leadership.
“The past eight years have been marked by unity, growth and remarkable support from our fathers in faith. I am confident that the next administration will surpass these achievements,” Otaru said.
Unveiling his vision, the new chairman pledged to strengthen unity among members, promote sound moral teachings and address pressing social challenges affecting the church and society.
He also outlined plans to improve the fellowship’s infrastructure, noting that further development of facilities would be carried out in phases to accommodate expanding programmes.
“Our focus will be on deepening love, promoting practical Christian living and ensuring that the fellowship remains a beacon of hope in challenging times,” Abdul stated.
The ceremony attracted clerics, stakeholders and members across the state, and ended with prayers for sustained unity, growth and spiritual advancement within the fellowship.
