
The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed that it has rescued a three-day-old baby abducted by two suspected women, Furera Abdulrahman, 35, and Sadiya Abdullahi, 39.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, on Friday, stated that two suspects in connection with the crime had been arrested.
According to the statement, the incident occurred on March 29, 2026, at around 5:45 am, when Aisha Bada, a 19-year-old resident of Ungwan Bako, Orange Market, Mararaba, reported the abduction of her newborn baby boy to the police.
In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, immediately directed detectives to investigate the incident and track down the suspects.
The statement partly reads: “According to Aisha, the abduction happened while she was asleep with her baby in her uncompleted building, and two unidentified men broke in, threatened her with violence, and took the baby.
.
“Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives arrested two suspects, Furera Abdulrahman, 35, and Sadiya Abdullahi, 39, on April 3, 2026, at around 4:00 am.
“The abducted baby boy was found in their possession and was successfully rescued. The suspects confessed to the crime and implicated an accomplice who is currently at large.”
The police stated further that the rescued baby was taken to the Medical Centre, Mararaba, where he was examined and certified to be in good health, and has been reunited with his parents.
According to the Command, the case is currently under investigation, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
