House of Representatives yesterday at plenary adopted 12 reports on various petitions on allegations of fraud, unlawful dismissals, community grievances and electoral disputes.
The adoption followed the presentation of the reports by the Chairman, House Committee on Public Petitions, Rep. Laori Kwamoti ,PDP-Adamawa, in Abuja.
In his remarks, Kwamoti said that all 12 petitions were referred to the committee at various times for investigations and recommendations.
He said that among reports was a complaint filed by Wisdom and Grace on behalf of Mr Anthony Onyeabor against Aso Savings and Loans Plc over alleged illegal, unjustified and fraudulent concession of a property in Sungold Estate, Galadimawa, Abuja, to ICPC.
He also mentioned the report on a petition by a former boxer, Bash Ali, seeking intervention over the proposed Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight in Africa, with allegations of sabotage and impunity against National Sports Commission, NSC.
“Other reports include a petition by EAGELTEL Synergy Limited against MPS Technologies Limited over the alleged non-payment of N61.4 million debt and unethical business practices.
“Also, I present a report of the Committee on Public Petitions on the petition by Mr Akinwale Tayo against National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, on the alleged unlawful dismissal of Mr Akinwale Tayo from service, referred to the committee on March 11, 2025.
“A report on the petition by Mr Adam Tarfa against the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, over alleged unlawful dismissal from service, referred to the committee on July 22, 2025.
“A report on the petition by Alifoma Consult Nigeria (on behalf of Obodougwa Umusam, Kwale Community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta) against Xernergi Company Limited, referred to the committee on Feb. 13, 2025.
“A report on the petition by employees of the University of Calabar (2019 -2020) yet to be payrolled and reinstated against the University of Calabar, referred to the committee Oct. 24, 2023″, he said.
Kwamoti also presented a report on a petition by Concerned Citizens for Justice and Accountability on alleged collusion and negligence against Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He said that the petition alleged that EFCC failed to investigate multiple fraud petitions against Property World Africa Network, PWAN, and the alleged target of a whistleblower, referred on Aug. 4, 2025.
In his ruling, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon . Abbas Tajudeen, directed that the reports be transmitted to relevant agencies of implementation and compliance. NAN
