
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed the death of two intending pilgrims in a road accident.
This was contained in a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, Wednesday.
Alkasim Ibrahim-Walawa and his mother, Hadiza Garba, indigenes of Walawa village in Kabo local government area of the state, lost their lives in a fatal car accident on Rimin Gado – Kano City Road.
Dederi said the board, in a joint condolence message with its Board of Directors, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.
“Alkasim Ibrahim-Walawa and his mother, Hadiza Garba, lost their lives in a fatal car accident on Rimin Gado – Kano City Road.
“Alkasim Ibrahim-Walawa, aged 48, is survived by two wives and seven children. His mother, Hadiza Garba, aged 73, is survived by five children.
“Both deceased are indigenes of Walawa Village in Kabo local government area.
“Their passing is particularly heartbreaking as they were on a noble journey with the intention of traveling to the Holy Land for pilgrimage,” the spokesman said. (NAN)
