Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has reportedly expressed anger after suspected thugs disrupted her movie production while filming on location in Lagos.
In a video circulating online, the actress was seen confronting individuals believed to be area boys who allegedly invaded the set and demanded money before allowing filming to continue. Eyewitness accounts suggest the situation caused tension and temporarily halted production activities.
Reacting to the incident, observers described the disruption as part of a growing challenge faced by filmmakers who choose to shoot outside controlled environments.
“This is disheartening,” one social media user wrote, highlighting the risks associated with outdoor film production.
Another commentary noted: “That’s why a lot of producers these days prefer to make their movie production an indoor set. They prefer to use estates with full security… That’s why we keep seeing same houses and set in different movies.”
The user further explained that the increasing interference from thugs has discouraged filmmakers from shooting on the streets, adding: “No producer wants to put the lives of their cast and crew in the danger of these thugs… They’ll even go as far as destroying their equipment.”
